Dede Johnston earned a degree in Art History from Middlebury College, Vermont and was employed by Sotheby’s in New York. In 2001, she studied photography at the Black and White School of Photography, London, and has since participated in several group shows internationally including Photo London, the London Art Fair and the Affordable Art Fairs in London and New York. She has had solo exhibitions in London, Kitzbuhel, Austria and Verbier, Switzerland, and Courchevel, France.
Johnston’s work has been selected by several magazines such Harpers Bazaar as a cover photo for their ‘Best Places to Ski’ supplement, by Porter Magazine for their Winter 2019 edition, by Conde Nast Traveller for their February 2020 issue featuring Courchevel. Notably, in March 2018, Johnston’s photograph ‘Iceberg I’ was selected by The New York Times to illustrate their article ’23 Art Exhibitions to View in NYC this Weekend’ as well as their piece ‘Art Treasures That Won’t Break the Bank’.
