Having long-held an ambition to work with wood, I started woodcarving at an evening class. I loved everything about it, from the smell and texture of the wood, to the joy of using my hands to create something beautiful. It couldn’t have been more of a contrast with my office job at the time, so in 2016 I decided to give up the day job and train as a professional carver. Now I have my own workspace within an artist-led studio, where I create a diverse body of carving work in both contemporary and traditional styles. My work ranges from small, personal carvings to large historical pieces and I am happy to discuss commissions on any scale.
